Maximizing Depth of Field for Macro Photos

The client wanted a photo of this board which showed how it was populated with their parts. Even using a good quality macro lens, it wasn't possible to keep everything in focus. But by taking two shots and combining them in Photoshop, we were able to get the client the shot they wanted. The first shot focused on the panel, and the second shot focused on the parts on the board. Then the silver edge of the panel was used to transition from one shot to the other.
