In January Lori and I spent a week in Puerto Vallarta to remind us what the sun looked like. We stayed with some friends at the Paradise Village resort. In addition to the usual resort amenities such as beaches, pools, dining, etc., Paradise Village also has their own zoo. Samantha is a tiger cub who was recently born on the premises. For the first few days of our visit we were allowed to pet her, but later the handler felt she was getting to the point where it was too risky, even though she had been declawed. She still had sharp pointy teeth, as our friend John found out. Fortunately for him, he only suffered small flesh wounds, but it makes a good story to say he was mauled by a tiger in Mexico.
