1870s Bustle Dress

Picture of the Month – February 2013

This 1870s bustle dress is one of Lori’s favorite pieces in the collection. We had used it once before for a shoot, but we didn’t shoot it with a bustle, and being a bustle dress, well it just didn’t look right.

So I was happy when I found Margo who had the perfect figure and height to model it. After seeing some of our collection she decided she wanted to do a Victorian portrait for her senior portrait. We ended up shooting her in this dress, and then moved ahead 45 years and shot her in a 1915 dress. She looked great in either dress, and as soon as I finish the processing, the new pictures will be loaded on our vintage fashion website.
