Friday afternoons my assistant Jessica and I will often try out new lighting concepts, or work on documenting the vintage clothing collection, or other projects that help build both our skills. This photo was taken during one such session in February. We travelled out to the old Van Duzen bridge, and did a number of fashion type shots. While editing the shots, I played around with this one in Photoshop. I created a mask of just the sunglasses, and then I reduced the saturation of the rest of the photograph. I’ve done this process with a few photos and usually people think I’ve colored a B&W photo, rather than the opposite.
