August is fair month in Humboldt County, and for the third year that meant we spent 11 days manning a booth. This year we sat between the candy booth which featured delicious fudge and peanut brittle, and the Humboldt Creamery booth which featured free ice cream samples. Not a bad spot at all. It’s always fun to hear the feedback from the people passing the booth, and this year was especially good for us, both in sales of fine art prints made during the fair, as well as contacts for future portraits. We even did one portrait at the fair, after the owner of the petting zoo saw the photo of Aidan & Marbles in our booth. She had a new puppy and wanted to get a portrait while we were at the fair. I found this little patch of dandelions in one of the lawns and thought it would be a nice spot to photograph Winchester. During the shoot, I got a fire call and had to leave, but I was confident that I had gotten some good shots by that point. Winchester had fun attacking and eating the dandelions, so there were several to choose from, but this was our favorite.
