I am in the process of selling off my medium format film equipment because I found I just don’t use it that often. I took it and my digital cameras out to the Lost Coast for one last hurrah, and it has reinforced why digital is so much more fun, practical, and economical. A few minutes after arriving back at my studio I was able to view all of the digital photos, and the next day had a print of this photo which was my favorite. Two weeks later, I still haven’t even removed the film from the medium format camera, much less even taken it in to get developed. Some of that is that it requires a special trip to Eureka to drop the film off, an hour round trip. But knowing that I already got the shots I wanted on digital, my incentive for looking at the film isn’t all that great.
