Memorial Day weekend was spent with my buddy Blake, riding our KLR650s through the boonies in Humboldt County. Some locations for the ride were names pulled off of maps, such as Hell to Find Lake (it was) and Blake Mountain. Other locations were some of my favorite places to ride and photograph, and on the top of this list is a little pond that I haven’t been able to locate a name for. Even though it is very remote and a three hour drive from my house, I’ve returned to it many times because I always find something interesting to photograph there. This trip I concentrated on different rock forms I found in one of the tributary creeks that feed the pond. This particular rock really grabbed my interest for the graphic nature and repeating lines that it presented.
