Picture of the Month – June 2007
I had taken my KLR650 up to Route 1 to photograph my favorite wildflower patch. Upon arriving on that location I found that I was probably a week too late, and the show was mostly over. So I did some other exploring, and by afternoon I noticed that there were clouds piling up on the western horizon that looked like they might put on a good sunset show. Since this was just a few days before the summer solstice, the sunset wasn’t going to be until about 9:30pm but I figured I’d look around for a good spot and hang out. This spot caught my eye for the wonderful silhouettes that the trees would provide. I got quite a few nice shots that night, but this was my favorite, as the moon ended up adding to the photo just as the color reached it’s peak. I didn’t get home until about 11:30 that night, but it was worth it.
