This is the first year that it wasn’t possible to go through the woods and over the hills to Grandmother’s house for my wife and I, having lost our last grandparent earlier this year. So for Thanksgiving we instead visited my sister in Washington. On the drive back we were in a hurry to get to Brookings before a certain store closed, when this scene flashed by the windows. I debated for a 1/4 mile and then decided I had to turn around and get a picture of this serene scene. We ended up missing the store being open by 15 minutes, but it was worth the stop to enjoy and capture this moment.
